Hey Everyone! I hope your week is going great! Today, I am sharing an outfit post of some recent purchases that create a good look for lunch dates, casual dinners or roaming around the town. It also makes for a great ensemble for spring/summer travel capsule – as it can be dressed up or down, by switching out accessories.
This off the shoulder Bardot top was a great purchase (under $40). I got it at H&M. I tried to link it, but it doesn’t appear available online. So if you live in Fredericton, I got it last week, so there should be some left! Otherwise, check the local H&M in your area.
I just love the tropical feel the pattern lends to the shirt and how it’s understated and chic. The viscose fabric make it breathable. Those combos will carry it into summer. The tunic length is also a nice change from the shorter versions that have been around for a while.
As mentioned, it can be dressed up or down, but also depending on your accessories, you can really change the mood of this look. I opted to give it a preppy resort wear vibe. You could easily wear it with block heal sandals to give it a more elegant feel. Wedges or espadrilles would also create a more summery look.
The jeans I’m wearing are by the brand called, Mother. They are SO comfortable. I love the high waist and the raw hem. They can be worn cuffed or uncuffed. The colour is perfect for a spring/summer denim. I bought them at a local store in Fredericton (Robert Simmonds), but if you don’t live around here, you can totally order online.
This is actually my first time purchasing denims from this brand. I am really happy with the pocket size, comfort and quality. I think they run a bit big though (these specific ones). I went with a 27, because they didn’t have a 26. After wearing for a day, they feel a bit big. They do have stretch, so I can pull them off, but I feel like I’m pulling them up and that can be annoying. So get your regular size or possibly even size down!
The rest of my ensemble are oldies, but goodies. I have had this Michael Kors bag going on 3 spring/summer seasons now! It is just SO easy to wear. I looked for other bags in this colour for the last few seasons, but have had a hard time finding anything similar. So I hope I don’t get tired of this before I finally track down another option! So far, I haven’t had much luck.
I feel my shoes are what really give this look it’s preppy resort vibes. It’s all about that tassel. As you may have read in my previous blog, I am a huge fan of mules, as they slide on and are comfy and chic. I scored these at a Tory Burch outlet last summer, while on our baby moon, so I don’t think they are still available. I have linked some similar options though!
I love, love this colour brown for accessories though (can’t say it enough – haha). I would say it’s a cognac shade. It just works with almost any colour combo. I always make sure I have at least one handbag and several shoes in this shade! SO versatile! Definitely recommend adding some accessories in this colour to your wardrobe if you haven’t – great investment!
Well, that’s it for today! Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!
