Gingham: a lightweight plain-woven cotton cloth, typically checked in white and a bold colour. When we think of this classic pattern, we no doubt envision picnic cloths or Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Gingham is fabric that has stood the test of time and has become incredibly trendy, trickling into everything, from high fashion to home decor.
I personally love it as a fresh alternative to the romantic florals that abound during the warmer months. I appreciate its ability to look preppy or girly. You can really give it different personas, depending on the silhouette and how you accessorize.
