SO, I have been meaning to do a review on the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer for almost a year (#momlife). I received it as a Christmas gift from my hubby last year. It was a great gift (*hint hint, gentlemen!), as I considered buying it myself, but kept putting it off since I had a decent hairdryer.

That said, you are probably wondering, is this blowdryer worth the hefty $600 price tag – right? Well, Dyson claims that the supersonic helps prevent extreme heat damage to protect natural shine. How? well, air temperature is measured 20 times every second, keeping the temperature under control. That said, it should also take less time to dry your hair (which is a major selling point for me). The blowdryer was designed with the motor in the handle to rebalance the dryer’s weight and shape. It has 3 speed settings: fast drying, regular drying, and styling. It was also one of the most awarded hair dryer of 2017*

That all sounds, great, but how did it fair out when put to the test? I will personally attest it appears to do everything it says! My hair does seem more shiny (as a blonde, that is not super easy to achieve). It definitely dries my hair faster and I have only ever used the regular drying setting (considering styling my hair is my least favourite part of daily routine, this is a definite, yay!). It is MUCH lighter than my last hair dryer, so I really enjoyed that aspect, as my arm would always get sore in the past (I don’t know how hairstylist do it! haha). The motor is less loud, which is also a nice feature.

That said, I still often caught myself wondering if it is actually worth $600 though. Then, I travel and use a hotel hair dryer and am reaffirmed. I am reminded just how amazing the Supersonic really is! Any other hairdryer now feels like it takes days to dry my hair. SO the quick drying time would be the most notably and best feature of this product (in my eyes).

So would I recommend this product? Yes! I would definitely recommend. Is it life-changing, sort of! I mean, it depends on what is important to you. I don’t think it’s a necessity, but if you don’t mind spending the money, I think it’s a great investment for various reasons. It will hopefully speed up drying time, giving you more time to do other things. It will help keep your hair shiny and healthy and it is lighter and less noisy than other high-end dryers.

If you have the supersonic, let me know what you think about it!? I would love to hear your thoughts!
