For the past few seasons, sherpa everything, from pullovers to teddy coats, have been making a major presence in the fashion scene. The great thing is that this trend comes at all different price points (hard to tell the affordable from the high-end). I have a few pieces that have kept me cozy and stylish through fall and winter.
I picked up this super comfy, oversized, motorcycle jacket version at Anthropologie in Boston last fall. It is so comfortable. It has a grey jersey lining that is so soft. I love the oversized collar and I just feel so snuggly and cozy when I wear it. Although I think it could be dressed up, I prefer to wear it more casual with my Frye combat boots and denims. I have had these Frye boots since 2015 (they are still amiable tho!). I love the colour and they are really comfortable. The Frame Le High Skinnies are one of my new favourite styles. They are also really comfortable and flattering and pretty true to size (you may want to size down depending).
Although I do HOPE to be packing my warm and cozy things away soon, based on weather trends from previous years, I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to wear some of the lighter ones (like this) for another month or so. My fashion instincts also tell me the sherpa trend will be sticking around next fall winter, so I’m sure I’ll be pulling them out again then. Actually, with winter coming to a close, this is probably a great time to pick up few cozy pieces fleeces variations you may you may have been eying, on sale! Perfect for those chilly spring days or weekends at the cabin!
I must admit, I love how so many fashion designers have been moving in the direction of functional fashion these last few years. I love getting dolled up, don’t get me wrong, but the everyday me always leans towards cozy, easy pieces – especially as a busy mom. So the fact that comfort and utility are maintaining a strong presence on the runways, makes me super happy.
What’s your thoughts not the sherpa trend? How do you wear your favourite fluffy pieces? I love to use my pull-overs as layering pieces with jeans and hiking boots, or with my lulu’s kicking around the house. My jackets I tend to dress up or down, depending on my mood and where I’m going. Love to hear what you think! Until next time, thanks for reading and have a wonderful rest of your week!
