Leopard Coat: Mango (sold out) but this one is a nice option & on sale!| Yellow Jacket: Dex Clothing – picked mine up at a local boutique – Wasted Fashion – if you’re not local it’s online here | Leggings: Aritzia | Booties: Crochinetta Louboutins| Purse: Chanel | Tunic: Elizabeth & James (no longer available), but this one is on sale super price & great option
Yellow & Leopard: two of my faves. Layered on top of one another – yesss please! Such great colour combo, however, since these are statement pieces, best to keep it basic with the rest of the ensamble.
I chose black as my base, because it lets the leopard and chartreuse be the focal point. I added some texture to keep it interesting with my vegan leather leggings, sleeveless mohair Elizabeth & James tunic and some black booties.
There are few things I love more than a statement coat or jacket. This rich shade of yellow is the perfect pop of colour. The clean lines of the coat keep it simple. It’s a nice light, felt-like fabric, which gives a nice texture, but not too heavy for spring. Also, price point is great ($110!)
Since our weather is still a bit on the chilly side (we still have snow – ugh), it works great as an under layer. It can be dressed up or down. You can wear it with heels or your fave white sneakers! I actually wore it as my travel coat to Miami last week. It was perfect for the plane and airport and even for the breezier evenings out in south beach. A nice light travel piece. I know I’ll get lots of wear out it!
The leopard coat has also been a great piece this season. Leopard prints have been trending hard for a while, but also such a classic, so won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. If you haven’t gotten in on the trend, do it – it’s not too late! I’ve literally worn this jacket with so much. Dresses, denim or even leggings and my black new balance sneakers!
I hope you are all enjoying the week. I am happy to be home after a wonderful vacation but not going to lie – missing the warm weather. Can’t wait until I can begin sporting some of my favourite spring pieces. I think it will be at least another full month before that happens!
What do you think of yellow for spring? Do you like the leopard combo with it? Love hearing from you! Thanks for reading and talk soon.
