The MOST Versatile & Comfortable Maternity Leggings

Faux Leather Materinty Leggings: Spanx (SHOPBOP), but also available here if you can’t find your size | Sneakers: Frye | White Maternity Tank: PinkBlush Maternity |Cableknit Cardigan: TopShop (I bought this last year in Arizona, but currently ON SALE!) | Leopard Silk Headband: LeLe Sadoughi also great dupe here for less!

First off, I have to say, I do not like most maternity pants. Many of the cotton maternity leggings I have are either comfy, but too thin, or thick, but don’t stay up! I have tried a few different style denims and faux leather leggings and have not had much success with these either. I feel like a lot of them slip down on me, especially the denims.

I just find dresses SO easy when pregnant and was fortunate to enjoy that spring summer season, which allows for dresses every day, with both my pregnancies. However, we are now into Autumn and although, we are having some nice warm weather, with a due date in November, I have to start considering wearing actual pants – haha (and not just the athleisure).

That said, since I get so much wear out of my faux leather leggings (when not pregnant), I went on a serious and furious hunt to find a maternity version, to get me through more dressier occasions; although, what I love most is that these can be dressed up or down!

At first I tried a pair of below the bump, by Seraphine, that were highly recommended based on reviews. Total NO-GO for me. They didn’t stay up on waist and made me look SUPER frumpy. They were below the bump, which doesn’t tend to work for me in later pregnancy, so might be a better option or early stages of the bump. Needless to say, they were returned.

Next I ordered a pair of the Spanx faux leather “Mamma leggings.” They were hard to track down in my size, but I managed to find a pair and they are SO comfy. I am hoping they don’t stretch out over time, because I have a feeling I will be wearing them alot. I LOVE that the waist is SO comfortable and I’m not constantly pulling them up. Although, I did note some slippage in the inner thigh area after driving with them on. I am chalking this up to possibly having ordered the wrong size. I am generally a small, but ordered them in a Medium based on reviews. I think I should have stuck to my pre-pregnancy size and personally would recommend you do the same, but I’m due in 5 weeks and don’t have time to send back and get a mother pair! Needless to say they are SO comfortable and chic and will work with so much, I am prepared to be living in them when weather chills.

Also, if you order from SHOPBOP which is one of the few retailers that has them stocked and does free delivery & returns) there is an additional 20% off!  (today is last day). There is actually 20%-25% off their entire site right now! One of my favourite online retailers. Don’t miss this sale, as it doesn’t happen often!!

Any other expecting moms have any comfortable and stylish leggings/pants to recommend! Please comment below! I would LOVE to add a couple more pairs, even though I am due  SO soon- eek! Time is flying, but passing slow at the same time. Can’t wait to meet our new little nugget, but also soaking up this time with Elle as an only child and TRYING to get things done so I can relax those last few weeks.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful week!

  1. Have you tried GeBe jeans? I sold them at my maternity store here in Fredericton and always had good reviews. I wore them for my pregnancies as well! I sold the rest of my stock to Jumping Jack’s Boutiqe and she should still have a couple different styles of their jeans!

      1. When I first opened it was called Modern Maternity and I rebranded to Adaela Quinn Boutique. I did it out of my home and popped around the province… I was open for about 3 years before I decided to slow down after my second last year! I work for Lulujo now! 🙂
