The BEST Multivitamin (Prenatal & Beyond)

Vitamins: Vitamin Code Raw Prenatal

I started taking prenatal vitamins in place of my regular multivitamin, when I was 34. My doctor suggested it would be wise, in the chance I ever became pregnant. Since then, I my go-to have been these Vitamin Code Raw Prenatals. They are easy to swallow capsule and don’t make me feel nauseous like some other prenatals I have tried.  They also contain lots of healthy “raw” ingredients for baby and me. Raw in this context, means they contain no high heat, synthetic binders, fillers, artificial flavours, sweeteners, colours or additives commonly used in tablets.

They come in bottles of 160 and 90 and they direct you take one vitamin 3 times daily. I try take mine at breakfast, lunch and supper. The Garden of Life Brand, states they are a “comprehensive whole food multi-nutrient formula, specifically formulated to meet the unique needs of women during pre-conception, pregnancy and lactation, providing the nourishment to support both mom and her developing baby.”

They use 23 organically grown fruits and vegetables  to add supporting antioxidants, vitamins and nutrient cofactors.

  • 800 mcg Folate to Support Healthy Neural Tube Development
  • 18 mg Stomach-Friendly Iron for Blood and Reproductive System Health
  • 1,400 IU Vitamin D3 for Optimal Dietary Calcium Absorption
  • Ginger for Morning Sickness and Digestive Comfort
  • Probiotic Immune System Support for Mom and Baby
  • Raw Whole Food Supplements
  • Live Probiotics
  • 23 Organically Grown Fruits & Veggies
  • No Binders Or Fillers
  • Vegetarian
  • Non-GMO Project Verified
  • Gluten Free
  • Raw
  • Dairy Free
  • Nutritional Support for Mom & Baby
  • Whole Food Dietary Supplement

I honestly can say I didn’t struggle with any morning sickness with Elle and very little with this current pregnancy. I also noticed that when others around me are battling cold and flus, I have been able to avoid picking these up, which is a total bonus, as you can’t take anything for this when you’re pregnant. I would like to think it’s because I have an incredible immune system, but I really think I need to give some credit to these amazing vitamins.

If you’re not expecting, they also have other multi-supplements ( click here ) catering to other vitamin, age and gender specific formulas. I will be switching to these women’s specific vitamins when I’m done nursing or having children, as I have had such a great success with the prenatal. If you’re in the Fredericton area, they sell these both at Aura and Sequoia health food stores. You can also purchase them online here (for less).

Have a wonderful rest of your day!
