Your Words have Creating Power

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21

It’s so important to speak words of life about yourself & the people around you, especially, toward your children.I was raised to think positive & be positive, because negativity is not from God. Don’t get me wrong, we have all found ourselves caught up in gossip or speaking words that are not so positive. We are human. The important thing is we learn from it & strive to do better.

We CAN do better.

How amazing would our world be if people spoke words of encouragement instead of always criticizing or gave compliments instead of holding back out of jealousy. It litterally costs you nothing to say something nice about someone. In fact, it will actually end up making YOU feel better…

The bible tells us that God created the world with his words. He spoke things into creation. What does that tell you about us? Well, the bible also tells us we are created in His image. So wouldn’t that mean our words have power too?

On the other hand, if you find yourself on the other side and someone says something negative to you or about you behind your back. Let. It. Go. Don’t give their words power. It doesn’t matter what they think or say. It matters what God says. His words are truth and He says, you are loved. He says, you are fearfully and wonderfully made. He says, He has an amazing plan for your life. He will finish what he started. So get into agreement with Him!

Andrew and I try our best to be mindful of our words. We speak good things over our children and we always remind them who they are – children of God.

Bottom line, words have creative power. So choose them wisely and thoughtfully. Speak good things about others; about your family; about your marriage; about your businesses; about your health; about your dreams and current circumstances. Even if you can’t see the light a light at the end of the tunnel, stay positive and speak words based on God’s truths and promises. You can find them all throughout the bible in relation to all the topics mention and more. This is how you get into agreement with God!

I love this photo of our little sweetheart, Elle Rose. It really captures her spirit. She keeps us on our toes with her very persuasive arguments that usually start with…”I got a deal for you”… or “here’s the deal…”She is so dynamic; funny, wise, smart, beautiful, kind, thoughtful, fun & imaginative. She has such a precious heart of gold & she brings life & happiness to everyone on her path. That is truth and we tell her everyday. So someday, when she has naysayers and negative things being slung at her, as we all do from time to time, we pray she will have such a strong foundation of who she is and will focus her energy there – God’s truths.
