Mascara: Maybelline | Eternal Roses: Bar a Fleurs
Like most things in life, I am not afraid to spend good money on a good product or service. However, sometimes I equate price with quality, but I have often found that isn’t always the case. This is one of those times.
For years, I have hunted for a good mascara. I usually conduct my searches by reading review after review or ratings on latest beauty products from high end department websites and from other freelance beauty bloggers and then put those products to the test to form my own personal opinion.

After years, I had finally found one or two mascaras I liked (this has been over a decade). They are, Tarte, Lights, camera, lashes 4 in 1 (this has been my good old faithful over the years, after trying many, hoping to find an even better one, I always go back to this) and the second usually rotated to the newest best on the market, with my most recent fave being, Damn Girl, by Two Faced.
Side bar: I dunno what it is with high end mascara, but I feel like they almost all need to be broken in. Like after a week of wearing them they find their grove and go on really nice and then they get dried out. Does anyone else find this?

Anyway, I was SO thankful that Maybelline New York has been sending me some products to try, because I might not have stumbled on some really amazing mascaras. I will say, basically every new mascara they have sent me has been better than any of the high end mascaras I have tried (and I have pretty much tried them all). I have to say, I am not really surprised. Maybelline had always been known by the beauty world to produce amazing mascara. I remember taking a make-up artist course back in the day and our instructor telling us that many celebrity make-up artists swear by Great Lash by Maybelline as a go-to and carry it in their kits. In fact I just read that, after 40 years, it is still one of the most popular mascaras in America.

So, all that to say, I think Maybelline knows how to make a great mascara. Let me tell you, I think the Falsies line is amazing! They offer a few different versions, depending on your lash needs. I personally loved them all, but my favourite go-to has been the Falsies Lash Lift. It is said to deliver dramatic volume and long, lifted lashes and indeed it does. I might add, it went on clump free from the first use. “It has a double curved lifting brush and fiber-infused formula grabs lashes at the root to lift, thicken, and lengthen. No clumps, smears, or flakes, just volume that lasts all day.”

All true! Also, at least half the price of what you pay for a mascara in a high-end cosmetic store. I mean, mascara is one of those products you don’t want to break the bank on, due to it’s short shelf life (three months) unlike other make-up products. All that to say, I am very positive I found my new tried and true mascara and it was too good not to share! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Happy Friday!
