Just when we think we have seen all the quaint seaside towns in Maine, we discover Boothbay Harbour! The perfect October weekend getaway! The leaves were so pretty and the vibe was cozy & charming, with lots to keep our family busy!
First Lee me say, we love Maine! It’s super dog friendly state, which is important to us! We have spent a lot of time in places like Camden, Kennebunkport & Portland — we always enjoy each place’s unique charm, views, boutiques & restaurants. We have stayed at some of the most wonderful inns & hotels & this one we stumbled on in Boothbay was another good one!
It was called, Spruce Point Inn Resort & Spa. It was dog friendly and had great restaurant on site (which unfortunately only opened for breakfast, due to special events, but recommended some amazing spots in town which also didn’t disappoint!). There was lots to keep us busy on their grounds, with a spa and hiking trails, activities for kids, yoga and the views were spectacular! We took advantage of the wine & charcuterie picnic. We ended up enjoying it by the fire in their lobby, because it was a bit chilly, but was lovely just the same!
The grounds were beautiful and has adventure at every corner! So much charm. All of us enjoyed exploring together.
The girls also enjoyed the evening s’more station!
The complimentary trolly was a hit with us and the girls! It’s offered by the town and is so cute and made our day! Driving around in the open air, seeing all the sites on our way to town, felt like we had our own tour. The driver showed us places we never would have stumbled on ourselves and we were able to check out on more length the next day!
The downtown boasts of lots of small shops & some top notch restaurants with amazing views. It’s picture perfect, like it belongs in a Hallmark movie. Overall, Boothbay Harbor was the perfect spot to spend a long weekend in the autumn with all the leaves changing! It ticked all the boxes. We will definitely be back – next time to enjoy some time there during the summer months! The perfect place for couples or families seeking a laid back vibe with lots of charm and plenty to keep you as busy as you wish.
